WebI was using force hydro shifters with hope rx4 calipers and changed both the calipers and levers/shifter. The spyre I'm using could be used for both drop levers or flat bar provided you use a short pull lever (like the odyssey monolevers I'm using). Honestly very impressed with the spyres, took about 30 mins to setup both vs hours for the hope rx4. Most people aren't riding in the drops for extended periods, you're mostly on the hoods, and when you are in the drops on descents that's when you really want to have the brakes within finger reach. WebDrop bars and flat bars often have different clamp diameters for the stem (unless both are oversized) so you'll likely need a new stem.. but a new stem is recommended anyway as you'll likely want a longer stem with a flat bar than drop bars to maintain a similar reach.
