There is a UES-180 locally for example. Does anyone have one?

Love this thing. Easily better than the Gibson Custom Shop I had. I prefer it even to the Collings I had for the 335 thing. Zero complaints (other than needing new pickups, but I knew that going in).
Web6 Feb 2024 · Visiting Tokai's website, one can only find some solidbodies. Nothing on their LP's or 335 clones, which are universally praised by rock'n'roll players. The Finnish importer, Musamaailma, had a store full of them when I visited before Covid. MIJ models have quite steep price tags, the MIK parallel models cost between a quarter and a third. WebThe entry level Japanese are pretty much on par with Edwards, bar perhaps the pickups. Best way with both brands is to check the numbers. With Edwards and Tokai it is usually LP or LS followed by 85, 105, 120 etc. The numbers stand for the price in thousands of yen. For me, it gets interesting from 150 and above for new (ish) guitars.
