WebI'm wondering if this is a totally okay thing to do because I've always thought that you need to size before priming otherwise the acid in the oil paint will rot the surface over time. However I know of people who simply use gesso when priming their canvases without applying rabbit skin glue beforehand. I think gesso is acrylic based.
